Set in secluded campsites in the game-rich wilderness of the Chobe National Park, five en-suite vintage stylish safari tents form an intimate cluster of warmth and comfort.

Stylishly done, the tents comes with al fresco en-suite bucket showers, soft beds, luxury linen, and comfortable chairs set up in front of your tent for daytime relaxation. The guests area comprise comfortable tents for dining and relaxation complete with private butler service, delicious Pan-African meals and traditional bush dinners served under the star far away from civilisation.

With accommodation closest to the Chobe’s animal kingdom, guests start their activities early in the morning. Joining expert guides in safari vehicles for exciting game drives, they are taken to explore the lush banks of the Chobe River and beyond.

At sunset, guests will be taken on a leisurely cruise along the Chobe River to spot wildlife.

Watching the elephant families drink and bathe in the river is an unforgettable sight, all the more impressive when herds of buffalo, rafts of hippo and gigantic Nile crocodiles are part of the scene. In the safari, adventure never stops. At night, back in the comfort of the tent, the sounds of wildlife making their way to watering holes pierce through your canvas walls but posing no real threat.

The camp moves to a different site every five or six days, ensuring that game drives constantly exploring fresh areas.

Nxabega Okavango Tented Camp is set in a private concession of 8,000 hectares to the southeast of the Moremi Wildlife Reserve in the centre of Okavanga Delta.

True to its name, Nxabega literally means 'place of the giraffe' nestles under a shady canopy of tall jackal berry trees overlooking a permanent floodplain. The high thatched main area is surrounded by wooden decks of varying levels offering several comfortable seating areas whilst the interior decor is mostly high standard African crafted furniture.

Accommodation at the Nzabega is in the form of nine canvas tented suites, positioned on either side of the main thatched area. The luxury units are stylishly furnished with queen sized beds, en-suite bathrooms and they are linked by a path that leads through to bush along the edge of the island.

A full range of activities are available by land and water, either on foot, vehicle or by boat. Each activity is led by a guide and a tracker, both of whom have high levels of knowledge and experience. Situated in a predominantly wetland area, expect to see impala, red lechwe, zebra, kudu, baboons, hyena, jackals and giraffe. Herds of elephant are common in the dry season with occasional sightings of lion, cheetah and the African wild dog.

The Sandibe Okavango Safari Lodge lies in a private concession of 8 000 hectares on the southeastern border of the Moremi Wildlife Reserve – a true natural wonder in the heart of the Kalahari Desert near the the world’s largest inland Okavango delta.

Within the remote wilderness, guests will find eight thatched cottages with open sides offering exceptional views of the Okavango Delta riverbanks and savannah. Scrumptious meals are available in the communal dining room. For a much private affair, optional private dining on the viewing deck is available on request.

Between game viewing activities, relax in the Lodge's inviting swimming pool or soak up the sun on the spacious deck. In the evening, enjoy campfire dining as thousands of stars light up the African sky.

The lodge’s prime location between permanent water and open plains means that guests can enjoy a variety of land and water-based wildlife activities in open 4 x 4 safari vehicles or mokoro canoes (a locally made dug-out canoe) that will take you to inaccessible locations and hidden islands for glorious periods of solitude and wildlife spotting.

The Okavango Delta is an incredible location for viewing Africa’s amazing wildlife such as lion, elephant, leopard, buffalo and the semi-aquatic red lechwe antelope as well as home to hundreds of bird species including many that are rare, making it a bird watchers paradise.

In the early morning, wildlife discovery awaits guests. Escorted by an expert guide and tracker, guests join game drives with each vehicle is equipped to take a maximum of only six guests, ensuring that everyone has a window seat throughout the incredible wildlife safari adventure. During the wet season, open plains allow you the extraordinary opportunity to view large herds of zebra, tsessebe and flocks of birds. The awe-inspiring annual zebra migration is from November to May.

The Savute Under Canvas campsites move to a different setting every few days, ensuring a true African experience. Each campsite is carefully positioned to be as close to the resident game as possible in order to ensure that each experience is uniquely yours and remarkably special.

A combination of canvas and bleached timber, Xaranna boasts 9 unique en-suite air-conditioned safari tents complete with a king-sized bed, private plunge pool, a luxurious bath and refreshing shower either indoor or al fresco.

The spacious lounge area is on an elevated wooden platform, opens on all sides to gape at the stunning patchwork of lagoons and channels that envelope the camp. The dining area features shady verandas overlooking the Delta and close by is the guest area with spacious reading zone, ideal for post-activity relaxation.

Guests can explore the wildlife surrounding Xaranna in the early morning and late afternoon. Evening game drives are available in an open air 4x4 safari vehicle accompanied by an expert guide and tracker. Enjoy the landscape consisting of floodplains as well as seasonal grassland, woodland, shrub land and savannah. Game drives track the Big Five as well as variety of other animals including semi aquatic lechwe and sitatunga antelope.

Birding highlights include Pel's fishing owl, Verreaux's eagle owl, bateleur, wattled cranes, green pigeons and various variety of kingfisher. Xaranna is more of a 'Delta waterway experience' offering water and wildlife trips. The waterways of the Okavango are best explored via joining river cruises in electric-powered boats or mokoro. Fishing trips can be arranged on request.
